The Russian government has decided to postpone the deadline for liability for tour operators failing to enter travel data into the Electronic Travel Voucher system until November 15, according to a resolution published on the legal information portal.
"With respect to tour bahrain whatsapp resource operators operating in the field of outbound tourism, the provisions of paragraph 1 of part 2 of article 2 No. 148-FZ "On Amendments to the Federal Law "On the Fundamentals of Tourism Activity in the Russian Federation" shall not apply until November 15, 2023," the document says.
Outbound tour operators were supposed to start entering data on sold tours from September 1, but the Ministry of Economic Development announced that the start of work would be postponed to a later date so that travel companies could test the program and establish interaction between their systems and the electronic voucher. For tour packages in Russia, this requirement has been postponed for a year, until September 1, 2024.
"Electronic Travel Voucher" is a data collection system in which tour operators must enter detailed parameters of each sold tour package and its cost. The law on its introduction in Russia came into force on September 1, 2022.
In addition, according to the resolution, the minimum financial liability of tour operators for outbound tourism will be increased from May 2024.
"In the period from May 1, 2024 to April 30, 2025, financial support for liability for tour operators in the field of outbound tourism or those who were previously engaged in outbound tourism, but whose information was not excluded from the Unified Federal Register of Tour Operators, must be formed in the amount of at least 25 million rubles," follows from the resolution.
The existing minimum amount of financial liability security of 10 million rubles will be required until April 30, 2024.
