A group of deputies from the LDPR faction, headed by party chairman Leonid Slutsky, has developed a bill that proposes to provide for the mandatory possibility of revoking personal data in electronic form, i.e. through websites on the Internet where the user previously gave consent to access such information. The text of the document, which will be submitted to the State Duma on Monday, is at the disposal of TASS.

According to the authors of the draft law, this will allow citizens to significantly simplify the possibility of exercising their right to revoke consent to the processing of personal data in a form convenient for them.

"Today, in a few simple steps via the Internet, a person provides full access to their data, not always realizing the consequences. Unscrupulous people take advantage of this by signing up for paid subscriptions and loans. But users do not understand how to cancel their consent to the use of data. Write an official letter, look for a legal address, wait for a response. While this long process is taking place, many things can happen. We believe that if consent to the processing of personal data is so easily given by filling out an electronic form on the website, then a revocation should also be available through the same channel without fail," Slutsky told TASS.
