How to Overcome the Challenges of Growing a Marketing Agency
Running a small business is full of ups and downs, struggles, and successes. For social media marketing agency owner Karlyn Ankrom, the journey is one of learning, growing and constantly working to overcome challenges.
Karin came into possession of the agency almost by accident. While she always wanted to run her own business, managing an agency and employees was never part of her plan. She started with a freelance social media service, slowly taking on more clients and recruiting contractors. It wasn’t until 2018, when she hired her first 1099 contractor, that she realized she had built an agency.
The first hire was made out of sheer necessity—Karin simply didn’t have enough hours in the day to serve all her clients on her own. Although she was scared to give up the security of a full-time job, she eventually made the change. For years, Karin worked part-time, running her own agency in addition to her 9-to-5 job.
