Facebook prepares an agreement with Nielsen to measure advertising

Facebook and Nielsen are close to signing an 99 acres data agreement that would reveal a lot of data about the opaque functioning of social networks and provide an analysis for advertisers who rely on this platform.

Under the deal, the social network would allow users to rate the advertising they receive and send this information to the Nielsen consultancy for evaluation of user trust, recall, message association, brand image and purchase consideration.

The tool is called Nielsen Brand Lift and could be launched during New York advertising week and released in beta to a small group of users before being expanded in the coming month.
