"When I'm with someone, we watch something on TV. But when they leave, I have to watch whatever's on," describes Jimmy Curran, a Philadelphia-based research analyst and writer who has spinal muscular atrophy.

Curran is the star of a video released by Comcast, in which the media corporation shows how its new remote control with eye tracking can make everyday life easier for people with physical disabilities, such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) or muscular dystrophy.
