What is the Federal Law on Games and Lotteries?
The origins of this law date back to the end of the Mexican Revolution, when the country was going through political and social upheaval. Due to various external factors, such as the prohibition of alcohol in the US, the opening of casinos and betting houses proliferated, mainly in the north of the country.
Various presidents sought to counteract these places, until President Miguel Alemán Valdés, in 1947, promulgated the Federal Law of Games and Raffles in order to regulate them and the activities that took place there.
