Deals between OpenAI and the press: a risky bet? We told you about it here. the German publishing giant Bild concluded a historic partnership with OpenAI at the end of December. As part of this agreement. Axel Springer will authorize OpenAI to use the content of its media . including Bild. Politico and Business Insider. to train artificial intelligence models. The group's main objective? To improve the quality of the answers given by ChatGPT thanks to its press articles while ensuring the economic sustainability of its media.


In July. the American news agency Associated Press (AP. also vietnam telegram announced that it had reached an agreement with the start-up . "granting it a license to use part of its press archives". However. the publication of content was not affected. In this vein. the political news site Semafor recently developed a search tool in partnership with OpenAI driven by AI called MISO (for "multilingual insight search optimizer" .. This allows journalists to efficiently find and summarize a wide range of articles in different languages. thus facilitating the content curation process .


The company describes the tool as "a personalized robot built on the OpenAI platform and using Microsoft's Bing search engine". According to Mind Media . an unprecedented partnership has also been established between Microsoft and the newspapers Ouest France and Le Monde in order to "help them apply the functionalities of generative artificial intelligence to their editorial activities". This would be the first agreement of this type between French media and a technology company of this size.
