Steps to add Instagram story highlights
Instagram Stories Highlights can only be created from previously published Stories. That is, you cannot pin an image or video to the Stories Highlights section without having previously published it.
Below, we tell you how to do it and the options you have regarding Instagram highlights :
Upload a story
Open the Instagram app on your phone and click
to access the camera.
Take or search for a photo, or record a video that you have edited in your gallery. You can take the photo by tapping the white circular button at the bottom or record a video by holding down the same button. In the left corner you have the option to search for a photo from your gallery.
Personalize your story by adding filters, music, text, stickers or links to your online store.
To post your story, click on the “Your Story” button in the bottom left corner. And that’s it! Your story will be visible to your followers for 24 hours.

Once you publish your stories , you can turn them into Instagram highlights . To do this:
Access your archive of published stories by clicking on your profile icon in the bottom right corner again. Archived stories are those you've already uploaded at some point.
On your profile, below your bio , you'll see a circle with a sign. Click on that button to access your archived stories, select the ones you want to highlight, and add a title that describes the content.
To add the story to a “Highlighted Stories” section, once you have created a section, go to the story you want to highlight, click on the 3 vertical dots in the bottom right corner of the story and select the “Highlight” or “Add to highlights” option.
Next, select the “Highlights” section where you want to save the story and confirm your choice. This way, you can pin your content and turn it into Instagram highlights.
