Add two-factor authentication

The two-factor authentication technique requires users to log in using a two-step authentication method. The first is a username and password , and the second step requires authentication using a separate device or app . Most leading websites like Google, Facebook, Twitter allow you to enable this feature for your accounts. You can also add the same functionality to your WordPress site . First, you need to install and activate the two-factor authentication plugin. Once activated, you need to click on the 'Two Factor Auth' link in the WordPress admin sidebar.

Next, you need to install and open an cashapp database authenticator app on your phone . There are several such apps, such as Google Authenticator, Authy, and LastPass Authenticator. We recommend using LastPass Authenticator or Authy because they allow you to back up your accounts to the cloud. This is very useful in case you lose , reset, or buy a new phone. All your account logins can be easily restored. In this tutorial, we will use LastPass Authenticator. However, the instructions are similar for all authentication apps. Open the authenticator app, and then click the Add button.

You will be asked whether you want to scan the site manually or scan the barcode. Select the scan barcode option and then point your phone camera at the QR code shown on the plugin settings page. That's it, your authentication app will now save it. The next time you log in to your site, after entering your password, you will be asked to enter the two-factor authentication code.

Simply open the authenticator app on your phone and enter the code you see on it.
