This week I had a very interesting chat with Cristian Mendivelso H, the brand new sales leader of Inbound Tools, a startup we are developing at SquadS Ventures. Cristian approached me looking for advice on how to maximize the performance of his sales team. After analyzing his situation, I proposed five commandments that I consider essential for any sales team that wants to achieve success. Below is a summary of my feedback along with my best attempt to support him in this challenge.
The 5 commandments to maximize the performance of a sales team
To achieve an efficient and successful sales team, it is essential to follow certain key principles. Here is a list of the five commandments that I consider essential for any sales team:
#FOCUS: A limited, committed and aligned team.
#PACE: Prioritize the number of weekly demos.
#PRESENCE: Consistency in the priority of conversations.
#SIMPLIFY: Reduce the complexity of the korean cell phone number business process.
#GROWTH is COMMERCIAL: Measure growth by the number of qualified leads.
Now, let's delve deeper into each of these commandments to better understand how they can be applied and what benefits they can bring to your sales team.
The importance of focus in a sales team
The first commandment I proposed to Cristian was #FOCUS . I noticed that there were many people participating in the sales process with “borrowed” time and objectives that conflicted with the brilliant execution agenda that Cristian and his team were looking for. This generated a lack of alignment and commitment that negatively affected the team’s performance.
