Links are counted differently. Whether to count duplicate links on a page, whether to count redirects, whether to count canonicals (which Ahrefs recently changed), etc. all affect these metrics. Because of this, we can't be sure that everything is apples to apples. We only report the figures at face value.
Next, the most important thing in all these graphs and metrics is direction . How are the indices moving relative to each other? Is one catching up, is the other falling behind? These are the questions bahrain number data are best answered.
The matrices are opposites. For each random URL or domain, a link index (Moz, Majestic, or Ahrefs) gets 1 point for being the biggest, linking to the biggest, or being “correct.” If they’re not a winner, they get 0 points. This means the graph won’t add up to 100 and it overstates the differences between indexes.
Finally, I'm going to show everything, warts and all, even when it was my fault. I'll point out why some things look weird on the graphs and what we fixed. It was a huge learning experience and I'm grateful for the help I received from the Majestic and Ahrefs support teams who answered my questions honestly and openly as a user.
Dashboard for all metrics
We’ve been tracking these 9 core metrics (albeit with improvements) since November 2017. Keeping a close eye on quality, size, and velocity, we’ve methodically built an amazing backlink index, built not by extensive counting but instead through intricately defined and measured metrics. Let’s now look at each of these metrics.
