When there were financial bottlenecks

Post by asimd23 »

Six years ago – still in the Publigroupe years* – the “P” generated a turnover of almost 150 million francs and posted a loss of interest and taxes (EBIT) of 16 million francs. In summary: for many years, the “P” was a guarantee of Swiss newspaper diversity. It was also a safe bet for publishers – especially the small ones – Or to put it briefly: the “P” was mother, dominatrix and scapegoat all in one. But this has changed massively, not least due to the massive uk rcs data changes in the entire media world.

The new owners, Carsten Brinkmeier and Jörg Nürnberg, were hardly known personally in the industry and probably did not know the peculiarities of the Swiss market in all their details - to put it mildly. But the big moment of settling scores and apportioning blame is yet to come. At the moment it is too early and not very useful, although it would be extremely interesting to find out why the scandal with Tamedia occurred.

It would be much more helpful for many of those affected at the moment if the interest groups of publishers, media agencies and clients set up a hotline or appointed a contact person who could give them legal or other advice in these confusing times.
