Two-factor authentication ( 2FA ) is an account security method that requires two independent ways to verify a user's identity when logging into a system or service. It provides an additional layer of security, helping to protect your account from unauthorized access.

The two-factor authentication process works like this: after entering the password, the user will be asked to provide an additional factor, such as entering an SMS code, pressing a button on the authenticator, or scanning a fingerprint. This creates two independent levels of verification, which significantly increases the security of the account.
