"But wasn't 2017 supposed to be the year of videos? We're looking forward to a 2018 full of new Video Opportunities!"

Leonardo Prati
" Video , this is what disappointed me, not so much the medium, which in 2018 will certainly be increasingly the primary medium for conveying one's content, but how it has been used up to now: low-value content and a tendency to replicate winning formats without experimenting and creating new ones (in the Italian market)."

Valentina Turchetti
“I expected only one thing to change come 2017: no spam, especially on LinkedIn!”

Maurizio Palermo
"Last year, still here on the SEMrush blog, I wrote for the article The Web purchase shareholder database Marketing Horoscope: All the Trends of 2017:

"One thing that will allow e-commerce to grow further is the creation of showcase e-commerce sites for local businesses, aimed more at offline sales than online sales.

I assumed that the eCommerce market would grow, also driven by the phenomenon of Webrooming (I visit the site and then buy in store). This happened less than I expected but I repeat that the boundary between online and offline is increasingly thin.

Another important barrier is about to be broken down between traditional stores and e-commerce: surely in the future there is shopping without going through the cash register (without checkout), which will not only change the way customers will pay for the items they like, this technology strongly affects the user experience and opens up new marketing opportunities. Shopping without checkout can take place in offline environments controlled by clerks but experiences in traditional stores can be easily combined with online experiences via mobile devices".
