Rector of MTUCI, PhD Sergey Erokhin, speaking about trends in the development of telecommunications industry technologies, said that the market had to postpone the trends expected in 2022 due to the special operation. Thus, until February 2022, the market expected the emergence of fifth-generation networks, and jamaica cell phone number list now expects the fourth generation, but Russian-made.

in wired technologies, now we expect a full-fledged domestic WDM and all optical technologies that are associated with it. Everyone was expecting a sovereign Internet, in one form or another, including the Yarovaya law, and now the trend is starting to shift to simply provide communication operators with domestic equipment," he said.

In his opinion, fifth-generation mobile networks will be in Russia, but with a delay to compensate for the loss of Western equipment with domestic developments. He also noted the trend of training personnel for technologies that are expected to be used in telecom in a few years. Thus, despite the absence of equipment on the networks of telecom operators that uses quantum key distribution, the corresponding personnel are already being trained in universities, since the technology will begin to work in a few years.

"All industry players understand that when this equipment appears, people will be needed to operate it. Therefore, it is necessary to draw up training plans in advance and coordinate them with market players. The same is true for 5G and 6G networks. Although fourth-generation cellular networks are now being actively used, we understand that, despite all the sanctions against Russia, cellular networks will still be upgraded. Therefore, it is necessary to train radio engineers so that in four to six years they will come to work for companies with the appropriate knowledge," he said.

Yuri Melnikov, Director of the Department of Operations Management of the Corporate Center of PJSC Rostelecom, noted that not only universities have begun to actively prepare specialists for telecom technologies that are not yet widely used in Russia, but the labor market has also prepared for this in advance. According to him, import substitution issues in the telecommunications sector began not in February of this year, but in 2012.
