Leaders around the world couldn’t imagine how quickly they’d need to call the shots and force entire teams to move to remote work for an indefinite amount of time. This presented them with a host of challenges and questions, including how to maintain productivity among their employees, what tools to use for collaboration and communication, and whether it would be sustainable. Vtiger faced these challenges and questions as well. Rather than look elsewhere for solutions, we began the process of taking a deep dive into our own product to ensure we could maintain productivity for as long as it took. I recently interviewed Mithun, who shared what the transition to working from home full-time was like for him. He also shared a great story about how the tools at Vtiger helped him collaborate with colleagues and close a deal that was dormant when the pandemic hit. Here’s Mithun’s story:

Mithun lives and works remotely from Bangalore, a bustling city in Karnataka that is considered the Silicon Valley of India (also home to Vtiger HQ). Mithun is a Senior Enterprise Solutions Consultant who has been with Vtiger for almost 7 years. He primarily focuses on enterprise accounts. Mithun details the details that go into his job, saying, “The nature of working with enterprise clients at Vtiger also includes fulfilling specific needs such as custom features, integrations, data migrations, and legal documents. This involves collaborating with product management, engineering, migration, and legal teams. We use Vtiger’s Task Managers across teams to get work done and drive sales deals forward without losing sight of the context.”
Mithun’s experience transitioning to working from home full-time
Despite missing his colleagues, the daily table tennis games, and the gourmet coffee rituals they shared, Mithun describes his transition to working from home as “very smooth.” He attributes this mainly to Vtiger being in the cloud and all the tools available. He continues, “I’ve never had any friction in terms of communicating with a team member or finding important deal-related information while working remotely, we’ve just never had any issues. We use all our own tools and most of the collaboration happens through Vtiger’s comment section in posts.
