Is my PRO also my editor?

Post by aminaas1575 »

No! They are a performing rights organization that reports to songwriters, publishers, and publishing administrators. ASCAP/BMI membership is helpful, but not necessarily sufficient. It is only a small part of the copyright story, and your PRO is not your publisher.

Performing rights organizations (PROs) such as ASCAP, BMI, SOCAN, and SESAC only collect one type of performance royalties, called public performance royalties (hence the name performing rights organizations).

Does working with you replace working with a PRO?
No, we simply take responsibility for uk number list registering your songs with PROs and mechanical rights collecting societies around the world if you join them. You will still receive a royalty check from your PRO for the author's share of your material.
