There are various reasons why you might see "direct/none" in Google Analytics. Here are 11 reasons why.
If a user accesses a page from a bookmark or favorite in their browser, there is no founder email lists referral source, so "direct/none" is displayed. This is a normal reason for having no referral source, and there is no way to prevent it.
Access via the link provided in the email
If you click on a URL in an email newsletter or other publication to access a website, there is no referrer, so it will be "direct/none." However, there is a way to clarify the referrer by adding parameters in Google Analytics. Parameters are variables that begin with a "?" at the end of a URL, and we will explain this in more detail later.
Entering a URL directly into the address bar
If you directly enter the URL of your company's website into the browser's address bar, it will be classified as "direct/none" because there is no referral source. The same applies if you enter part of a URL into the address bar and select the site URL from the displayed input suggestions. There is no countermeasure, just like when accessing from a bookmark.
