Yahoo! today announced the promotion of Kristof Fahy to vice president of international marketing, a new position created by the company, in which he will be responsible for the international development and execution of Yahoo!'s brand program, communications plans, consumer marketing plans, corporate marketing plans and regional marketing activities. Fahy will report to Elisa Steele, Yahoo!'s CMO.
In her new role, Fahy will work closely with Yahoo! executives and regional divisions across Europe, Asia Pacific and Emerging Markets to strengthen the brand through innovative marketing loan data programs that attract new users and advertisers.
According to Elisa Steele, “Kristof has the perfect combination of talent and experience to reinforce the relevance of the Yahoo! brand to users and partners on a global level,” adding “This is an exciting time for Yahoo! and I am confident that under his leadership, the international marketing team will play an important role in helping to grow our business.”
With over 17 years of experience in marketing, Fahy brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the role. He joined Yahoo! in November 2007 as Vice President of Marketing for Yahoo! Europe from RIM (Research in Motion), where he was Brand Marketing Director for Blackberry in the European, Middle East and African (EMEA) markets.
“Yahoo! is a uniquely global brand that engages a global audience with innovative products and seamless experiences, while also engaging with local interests in each country or community where it operates,” says Fahy. “My goal is to work with an internationally-focused marketing team that works to strengthen the company’s brand image globally while also maintaining Yahoo!’s personality in each market.”
