Now that you understand the reasons for this error, a simple way to fix it is to delete the file.maintenance.

Tip: Before making any changes, we recommend creating a backup of your site . This way, you'll have a fresh copy of your site in case something goes wrong.

The file .maintenanceis usually located in the root directory of the website. It can be accessed using an FTP client or File Manager from the hosting provider's cPanel .

Accessing the .maintenance file via FTP

Once you are connected to the site, simply head over to the folder public_htmlin the right panel.

You should now have several WordPress core files in the folder.

From here you can find the path to the file .maintenance. Simply right-click on the file and select the “Delete” option.
