However, as with any other type of remarketing, there are a few mistakes that can be made when uploading an email database:
UPLOADING THE ENTIRE DATABASE
The first mistake is that we upload the entire mailing database directly to the system.
Let's say we've been collecting newsletter signups or building a customer base for a few years now. So why not use this source and show these people Facebook ads?
However, as is often the case, the devil is in the details. Just because someone signed up middle east rcs data for our newsletter 5 years ago doesn’t mean they’ll still be interested in us today. Just because someone bought a product from us 2 years ago doesn’t mean they’ll still be interested.
It's a bit like fans in social media - the number of people who liked our profile is less important than the number of active users. Why? Because you only become a fan once and it's very rare for someone to give up.
Example:
If 5 years ago I liked a website producing baby strollers because I needed it then, now I'm not interested in those strollers because I have other problems with my offspring... most likely.
And it's similar with customers or with a newsletter subscription. What good is it that someone is in our mailing if they don't open the message at all? It's hard to call them a promising member of our potential customer base.
Sounds tempting, right?
