While there are a few exceptions in your feed and stories, like ads, most of what you see automatically on Instagram is shared by people you follow.
Feed and Stories show posts from users and hashtags you follow, so people use them to see content from their close friends and that interests them.
Instagram collects all kinds of information general manager email database about posts, who posts them, and your preferences in a variety of ways. We call this information "signals," and there are thousands of such signals.
These include the time a post was shared, whether users are using a smartphone or a computer, and how often they "like" videos.
Stories, which are used to communicate with users, will appear further to the left if they receive more engagement, while feed posts, which create the account's world view, will appear higher if they receive more engagement.
Four points to prioritize posts on your feed and stories
There are four key points to prioritize your posts in the feed and on Stories:
1. Posting Information
The popularity of the post (the engagement it received, such as likes, saves, comments, shares, time spent on the post, and profile taps)
Information about the post (such as the time it was posted, the length of the video, its location, the region the post is associated with, etc.) are important signals.
2. Information about the poster (the person you follow)
Your level of interest in the person who posted is important, including how many interactions you've had with that person in the past few weeks (post views, likes, comments, story stickers, DMs, etc.).
3. Information about your actions
The number of posts you like, viewed, or liked are also priority signals to determine what posts you are likely to be interested in.
4. History of your interactions with other people
We determine the level of interest in a person, content, or category by the frequency with which a particular person (someone you are paying attention to) comments on and views their posts.

In particular, in order for businesses to get their followers to see their posts, they should be conscious of gaining engagement such as the amount of time spent on the post, likes, comments, saves, and profile taps, and should post regularly during times when their followers are present.
In addition, replying to comments on posts and making an effort to communicate with users, as well as adding shopping tags and encouraging users to take action, are also effective ways to increase engagement.
