In a non-European comparison, Southeast Asia is one of the leading regions in the tech industry, with 32 percent of women. The most important factor for the high proportion of women is the special programs in the tech sector that are tailored to recruiting, retaining and promoting women.
In this context, we investigated which influencing factors (family, role models, etc.) are particularly important for women in the individual career steps and how these differ in the individual countries and regions. For example, it was found that women in Thailand are particularly influenced by family and society when choosing a training course, while women in Singapore were more likely to cite role models and women's networks as decisive influencing factors in choosing a training course.
